Mr. de Miranda's distinguished career in the human services field dates from the late 1970's after earning a Master's degree in Counseling and Consulting Psychology from Harvard University. His early experience was as founder of Victory Programs, Inc. in Boston, one of the largest and most successful recovery agencies in New England.
Mr. de Miranda moved to Northern California in 1981 where he served as a Program Consultant to the San Mateo County Department of Health Services and President of Peninsula Health Concepts, a national consulting group specializing in healthcare, non-profit organizations and strategic planning. In addition, Mr. de Miranda served as the Western Region Coordinator of Join Together, a program of Boston University's School of Public Health. Join Together provides a wide variety of technical assistance and training to national and local non-profit organizations and comunity anti-drug coalitions.
Mr. de Miranda has also held executive leadership positions at Youth Power, the American Red Cross and the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center. He is a member of the Board of Directors, representing California and Arizona, of Faces and Voices in Recovery, a national organization working to change public attitudes about addiction and recovery.
Mr. de Miranda is an instructor at the University of San Francisco, the University of California, Berkeley and California State University, East Bay.
